We arrived in El Salvador Monday afternoon. It took a long time to get through immigration and customs because it was very crowded in the airport -- we found out that many people were returning from vacation which is the first week in August. The national holiday is Aug. 6, the feast of the Transfiguration since the country is named after the Savior of the World.
Maria Luisa´s mother provided us with a delicous typical Salvadorian main meal, then we rested a bit before attending Mass and the weekly meeting of the charismatic young adult group. It was awesome -- there were over 150 youth ages 17-25, completely in love with the Lord and intent on praising Him and serving Him. We shared with several afterwards. They will be helping us with a high school youth retreat on Thursday.
Today we drove here to the Agape headquarters in Sonsonate, western El Salvador. We are just now getting the tour of the complex, and will soon meet the founder, Franciscan Fr. Flavian Mucci.
Lots of love,
