Edith Garcia Serralde is from Toluca, Mexico. She met our Sisters at the National Charismatic Youth Conference (ENJES). An attraction to the cross we wear in our belts, drew her to us. Edith comes from a strong and vibrant Catholic family. Both her parents are in leadership roles in their prayer group and dedicated to evangelization. She also loves painting, animals, and nature (a Franciscan!). Edith desires to be a great saint above all because she wants to love God greatly. She lived in Monterrey, Mexico with our Sisters for nine months. There she studied intensive English and took some formation classes. In her free time Edith is learning to play the guitar so that she can offer to God praise and worship.
Ailua Telesia Key, lovingly called Sia, is originally from Samoa. She comes to us via San Antonio, Texas and she says that she has four uncles who are priests and five aunts who are religious Sisters. Presently, she has three cousins who are discerning religious life. She said that as a family they prayed the night prayer daily and she was often encouraged to think about the religious life. She plays the ukulele, loves to sing, and dance. Sia hopes to one day go back to Samoa to evangelize and perhaps be the first Samoan saint! She says that the Catholics in Samoa needs to hear about the New Pentecost, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
