The evening began with a tour of the Center and the convent and a visit to the Old town plaza and Saint Philip Neri church in Albuquerque. This was the place where our Sisters did an evangelistic outreach some years ago called "Caravan of Jesus Joy".
Mass for the vigil of Pentecost began at 5:00 p.m. at the Center with Father Leo of the CFRs celebrating and Brother Gerard who accompanied and assisted him. It was a powerful moment of grace when after Communion the Lord spoke to us words of encouragement and exhortation through prophecy. In short, it was a call to conversion, repentance and reaching out to others.
Dinner was provided by the people of Albuquerque. Everything from tamales, chile con carne and the works! It was a time for us to connect with our friends and build each other up in the Holy Spirit.
There was more to come in the evening . . . a prayer meeting with high praise and worship and powerful use of the gifts. Truly, the Church and the Charismatic Renewal is well and alive. Sister Magdalena is doing a fantastic job of directing the Center and Sister Anthony is blossoming in her role as mission leader and assisting at the Center. We are so blessed to see what the Holy Spirit is doing here through our Sisters and the many wonderful leaders who have been so faithful to the call of the Spirit. If you are ever in the Albuquerque area, stop by and pay them a visit. We hope to see them more often too.
