Gina and Elizabeth will receive the full habit of the community. As they walk up to the altar Mother Lucy will present them with the Cross to be worn in the belt, the TOR Rule of Saint Francis and call them by their new name.
Entering the novitiate is when the candidate becomes a member of the community. The first year of novitiate is known as the canonical year during which they will be focussed on more intense study of the vows, our charism in prepartion for first vows.
Gina Liebsch comes to us from Ham Lake, Minnesota where she was involved with NET Ministries, a youth evangelization group. Elizabeth Hamann graduated from Franciscan University in Steubenville but lived in Florida before coming to the community. Both of them are gifted young women with hearts surrendered to God's will for their lives. There is no doubt that He will use them powerfully as a sign to His people. Pray for Gina and Elizabeth as they prepare for this next step.
