Before leaving for Costa Rica on October 21, the Sisters prayed with Sister Kateri and received a word from the Lord that this would be a time of education, vocation, evangelization, and vacation.
She has become almost fluent in Spanish and has impressed all the Sisters with her progress. Here is what she has to say:
"I enjoyed the classes so much because it was not only education but my teachers and I were able to share our faith while I was learning Spanish conversation. I was edified when one of my teachers' shared the story of her conversion to the Catholic faith. Through her first born son, while still a little boy, God captured her heart and brought her back to the Church. Now, she is a happy Catholic and we enjoyed many hours of sharing our faith and at the same time practicing Spanish. One of the teachers had totally blocked out religion from her life including her former Catholic faith. During my time of visiting and sharing my testimony and getting to know the family the Lord did an incredible work of opening her heart to seeking God again. She began recognizing that she had a deep desire for God and she couldn't live without God in her life.
I experience such deep love from the teachers, staff, and people of Cost Rica. I was able to attend daily Mass and make friends at the local church. The beautiful tropical setting of the country was so condusive for prayer and study.
