The Come and See retreats offer an opportunity for young women who are discerning their vocation to experience religious life for a weekend.
On May 23-25, 2008 we had at Prayer Town a Come and See weekend. It was organized and hosted by Sister Juliana, our Vocation Directess, assisted by Sister Regina Marie and Sister Gabriel Mary. Other Sisters helped giving various talks. We rejoiced in welcoming a group of four courageous young women who, through various activities, were able to learn more about Religious Life and the DLJC Charism.
The activities included participation in liturgies, communal prayers, prayer meeting, meals, and recreation, as well as presentations on Religious Life and the charism and history of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
It was a beautiful weekend both for the young women taking time off to listen to the Lord, and for us praying with them and helping them discern God's will for their lives.
Let us pray to the Harvest Master to send laborers to His harvest!
"[A] special way of following Christ is the vocation to the consecrated life, which is expressed in a poor, chaste and obedient life, totally dedicated to God, in contemplation and prayer, placed at the service of others, especially the little ones and the poor."
Pope Benedict XVI
