The main attraction of Groom is the large cross that towers on the side of Interstate 40 (Historic Route 66).
The Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ Ministries manufactured this Latin cross, made out of Metal (steel, bronze, aluminium, ...) in July 1995.
At 190 feet tall, its the 2nd. tallest cross in the western hemisphere. On a clear day you can see it 10 miles away.
The place features, among other things, life-size statues depicting the Stations of the Cross, the Last Supper (under construction), the empty tomb, and a fountain of Divine Mercy. They also have in display a replica of the Shroud of Turin, a memorial for the victims of abortion, and a large gift shop.
